(617) 218-2027 | | PDFPrint Bio

Patricia Saint James specializes in the area of domestic relations. Her practice in this area is sophisticated, characterized by complex litigation involving valuation of assets, custody disputes, tax analysis and jurisdictional issues, as well as the drafting of Divorce Agreements and Pre- Nuptial Agreements. A past chair of the Family Law Section of the Boston Bar Association, she has worked extensively with the Massachusetts Legislature, the Courts and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue to shape legislation, train other lawyers and enhance the practice of family law in the Commonwealth. She has co-authored the chapter on valuation for the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Divorce Law Practice manual, and is often called upon to teach seminars in the areas of business valuation, taxation, jurisdiction and real estate, and to serve as a special master in complex business disputes.

Pat also has a diverse transactional real estate practice. She has broad experience in both commercial and residential projects and represents developers and lending institutions in the acquisition, development, management, and sale of land, involving office and commercial properties, shopping malls, condominiums, and hotels. Before joining Tarlow Breed Hart & Rodgers, Pat was extensively involved in the representation of public utility companies on the corporate side of divestiture transactions, from the initial bidding process, through the drafting of the purchase and sale agreements, to the closings. In that capacity, she was responsible for overseeing team members throughout the country in all pertinent practice areas, including real estate, environmental, land use, regulatory and financing.

Pat has completed the MCLE’s four-day, thirty-hour family law mediation workshop. This training enables her to serve as a domestic relations mediator in compliance with the Commonwealth’s requirements under Rule 8 of the Uniform Rules of Dispute Resolution.
